To kick off our Christmas holidays we spent a few days camping at Hastings Point near Tweed Heads at a BIG 4. We always try and do something holiday-ish straight up so we get in the relax-mode. The holidays also feel as though they stretch out longer.
This BIG 4 is called North Star Holiday Resort and it is truly kid heaven! There is an insane waterpark, kids movie nights, kid’s club with games, crafts and activities, a ball pit and indoor climbing maze, outdoor play areas, and loads of room for bike riding, scooter cruising and nightly spotlight challenges. The place was crawling with children whose faces had massive smiles plastered on them. You could see there were some regulars where the kids meet up here annually and pick up where they left off last year. Such a great vibe!
It’s also parent heaven. The kids are happy and busy while we can grab a coffee from the coffee van, eat at the restaurant or have an aaaaamazing massage in the parents retreat area. Kirk and I both took turns having a 1 hour massage each. Bliss!
We’ve done our fair share of rough, bush camping so it was nice to do something a little bit different this time.
Our home for a few days!First morning – Judah watching ‘the big kids’ riding their bikes up and down the road. This was our powered site which had fake turf (awesome and clean!), landscaped area, water and the staff even parked our camper for us with their tractor – valet camping people! We got Judah an early Christmas present…a new bike and helmet! But he is too small for it still and just ends up sitting on it while we pushed him around 🙂
Giving his dad a workout with all the pushing. He was pretty stoked with himself though.
Second night in his camper bed. He had such a big day with a couple of stacks (see the knees!). He slept REALLY well!
Storage camping hack from my all time fave…Pinterest. We stored all our dishes, cups and cutlery here so it stacks neatly, dries in one place and is easy to access. Worked perfectly!
The ball pit during kids club time. Judah thought this was the best thing and spent ages playing in here with the other kids.
Playing hide and seek with me in the indoor playground area. Morning tea break. This is the only photo I took of the waterpark. We were not only having too much fun, but there was also water EVERYWHERE!
Cause his bike was too big, we went to Tweed Heads to grab a scooter so he could join the ranks. This little friend had the same kind of scooter and was around the same age. They had a great time together!
After a scootering session, we came back to our campsite to see a full cricket match happening out the front. All the kids having the best time, and all the parents sitting in camp chairs with wine and nibblies.
We found mud for our trucks! Our holiday is complete.
The gorgeous river mouth which was the perfect place to play with a toddler. No waves and loads of shallow areas.
Stacking it over the sand castle…mummy takes photo.
Once Judah worked out how to use the water tap, it was all over. Mud and fun for days. Books and beers for mum and dad.
This kid is generally stoked with life, but check out his bubble-induced smile!
We had the most incredible holiday away and are ready to book in for next year…which can be a bit tricky cause it is so popular. See you next year Hastings Point!
